There's something fishy about BMW's i8 sales report for December

The sales in December were nearly the same as August, September, October, and November combined. The reported sales were higher than the total number of new i8s listed online for sale...a number than hasn’t decreased. So they either did something slimy like pulled the in-service warranty trigger on all 2014 and 2015 i8s and call them “sales”...or they are straight up lying.

The jump could be from a buncha businessmen looking for tax write-offs at the end of the year.

Or dealer owners buying them for themselves.
